Moisten the cloth and remove as much salt from the surface. If stains are fresh, they will clean up easier, so do not leave the boots dirty after you returned from the snow.

Mix vinegar with an equal amount of water. Moisten the cloth in the mixture and gently wipe to get rid of salt stains.

If the mixture does not completely remove salt stains, try to give up water and use straight vinegar to clean boots stains.

Vinegar can be very corrosive on leather shoes, so it would be good that after you get rid of salt stains to use a shoe cream or a special solution for that color.

If vinegar didn’t clean salt stains, cut an onion in half and rub its wet inside on shoe stains. Clean debris with warm water and apply shoe polish after.
