My stove always results in a greasy mess after cooking! Since the mess is pure grease, I knew I would need a good degreaser to get it clean. In my opinion, there is no better ally in the fight against grease than citrus. Hence, now that I know it cleans and disinfects, removes stains, and is an extremely effective degreaser, I use it for my DIY solution. Read here and see how to make your own homemade citrus degreaser to clean your stove.
I have made homemade cleaners before using lemon juice, but I decided to stick with strictly Lemon essential oil this time. Then I added a few of my favorite homemade cleaning ingredients and came up with what I think is a great homemade citrus degreaser!
You will need the following ingredients:
– around 2 cups warm water
– about 2 tablespoons baking soda
– 2 teaspoons castile soap
– 20 drops of lemon essential oil.
Thus, now all you have to do is mix all of the ingredients together in a spray bottle.
Spray mixture on greasy messes and wipe with a wet towel, then shine with a dry one.
My favorite method to use this degreaser though is to let sit for a while. Hence, I spray a lot of it on the stove, even in the smallest corners because I want it spotless. I figure that around 2 hours will be enough for the solution to do its miracle. Then, I also like to spray some on my wet towel, it adds a bit more for me to be able to clean it using this method.
I hope this also helps you, I find it to be quite a good turn-out from the commercial products.
