As we all have noticed, Ugg boots became a must have. Comfortable and durable, the Ugg boots are made of a material that allows ventilation and can be worn both in winter and summer.
These sheepskin shoes are hard to clean, especially during winter when they get dirty faster. Here are some practical tips to remove stains from Ugg boots:
To remove dirt and other debris left on boots, use a soft and slightly flexible bristle brush. Execute slight movements, circular and smooth, without pressing the brush too hard to avoid destroying the protective layer of the boot.
Use a polishing solution for stains: 2 tbsp of corn flour and a tablespoon of water. Apply the moist corn flour on the stain and, using your fingers, gently massage the dirty area.
If the boots are very dirty, soak a clean sponge or cotton cloth in a little cold water and wipe the messy area. Change the cloth immediately not to stain the rest of his boot.
Dilute a leather cleanser in water (a glass of water, 4 tablespoons of solution). Soak a sponge in the mixture and apply it on the boots, gently pressing on the dirty spots. Clean the boots with cotton or paper towel and let them dry.
Makes a mixture of 2 teaspoons of baking soda, 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of water to disinfect and clean the inside of the boots. You can add a few drops of balsam or perfume for a pleasant smell.
Soak a cloth in the resulting composition and clean the fur inside.
You can put the Ugg boots in the washing machine at a temperature of 30 degrees. Set a program that lasts more than 40 minutes. Use a fabric softener that protects the natural color of the boots.
After washing, put them in a warm or sunny place to dry. Put crumpled paper inside the boots to help them return to their original shape.
Tip: Do not use electric dryer because the material gets rough, slightly spiky.
After they dried completely, use a fine bristled brush to restore their brilliance. You can buy sprays specially designed for Ugg boots that provide a protective layer against snow, mud or dust.
Tip: it is possible that your Ugg boots to shrink after washing. Do not be alarmed as this is completely normal. Just wear them and you’ll notice they’ll start regain their original size.
